Our Alaska adventure begins and ends in Seattle, where the city skyline, Puget Sound and snowcapped mountains set the stage for the week ahead. Come in a day early and the vacation starts before we even sail, with our Social Vacations hotel meet & greet and a chance to meet the people you’ve been chatting with in Telegram. Then it’s time to board Virgin Voyages, grab a drink with your new travel crew and watch Seattle fade into the distance as we head north toward Alaska.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Welcome to Alaska! Ketchikan is a colorful waterfront town surrounded by mountains, dense rainforest and some of Southeast Alaska’s most spectacular scenery. Wander the historic boardwalks of Creek Street, discover the area’s rich Native Alaskan culture, head out in search of whales and wildlife, take a floatplane over the wilderness, or chase waterfalls through the Tongass National Forest. Whether you’re looking for a big adventure or just want to explore town with some new friends, Ketchikan is a fantastic introduction to Alaska.
Sitka, Alaska
Wedged between forest-covered mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Sitka combines incredible wilderness, Alaska Native culture and fascinating Russian history in one seriously beautiful little town. Spend the day hiking through temperate rainforest, exploring the waterfront and historic sites, spotting bald eagles, searching for whales and sea otters, or simply wandering around with people you’ve met on the cruise. Sitka feels a little wilder and less polished than many cruise ports, which is a big part of its charm.
Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier
Get ready for one of the most spectacular days of your Alaskan adventure. As we sail deep into Endicott Arm, you’ll be surrounded by towering mountains, dramatic waterfalls, floating icebergs, and pristine wilderness before reaching the magnificent Dawes Glacier. Keep your eyes open for seals, whales, and other wildlife along the way, then watch as the massive wall of blue ice comes into view. This isn’t just another port of call. Finish your adventure with a taste of British Columbia in beautiful Victoria. Stroll through the Inner Harbour, see the iconic Parliament Buildings, explore the shops and pubs downtown, or venture out to the world-famous Butchart Gardens. Elegant, walkable, and full of personality, Victoria is a fantastic final stop before returning to Seattle.
