We welcome solo travelers, couples, groups of friends, and adult families. You do not need to arrive with a ready-made travel crew. You can also enjoy your own plans and join the gatherings that appeal to you.

How a Social Vacations community cruise works

1. Choose your sailing. Start with the destination, dates and cabin that suit your plans.
2. Get acquainted before departure. Join the Telegram group before the cruise, introduce yourself and see who else is going.
3. Meet before boarding. The hotel meet & greet the night before the cruise gives you a chance to connect in person.
4. Find familiar faces onboard. Check your hosted sailing’s community schedule for gatherings and opportunities to spend time together.
5. Make the vacation your own. Join what you enjoy and leave room for independent time.

What is included in the community?

Social Vacations community events are free when you book through Social Vacations. There is never an extra cost. It’s all free when you book through us.

This refers to our community events on designated hosted sailings. Cruise fare, hotel stays, transportation, drinks, excursions and other travel purchases are separate expenses. Check the particular sailing’s schedule and inclusions before booking.

Solo travelers

Coming alone can mean more freedom without requiring every meal or activity to be alone. Introductions before departure can help you recognize people once onboard. Tell us your accommodation preferences so we can compare cabin options as well as the social experience.

Couples

You can enjoy time together and also meet other travelers. A community cruise gives you opportunities to share a meal or an outing without giving up the private parts of your vacation.

Groups of friends and adult families

Bring your own people and meet more along the way. Different travelers can choose different activities, then reconnect at a gathering. Agree on cabin preferences, dates and budgets before comparing bookings.

What if I am quiet or new to cruising?

You do not have to be the loudest person in the room. A short introduction in Telegram, a conversation at the hotel meet & greet or attending one gathering can be enough to get started. Participation is optional.

Do I have to attend everything?

No. The community is there to make connection easier. You still choose how to spend your time. Check the schedule and pick what you want to join.

Can you book other Virgin Voyages cruises?

Contact us with the dates and itinerary you want. We can discuss booking options on other sailings and clarify what support is available. Hosted community events apply to designated hosted cruises, so do not assume the same schedule exists on every voyage.

Already booked?

Ask us to check transfer eligibility before changing your reservation. We will clarify whether the booking can be moved and which community benefits apply.
