Scarlet Night on Virgin Voyages: What to Wear & What to Expect

Plan Scarlet Night on Virgin Voyages with advice on red outfits, evening timing, the pool party and joining at your own pace.
Scarlet Night celebration aboard Virgin Voyages
Wear red in a way that feels comfortable and fun for you.

Scarlet Night is Virgin Voyages’ signature red-themed celebration. Virgin describes an evening of pop-up performances and live music that builds toward a pool dance party. You can participate in the parts that appeal to you without designing your entire vacation around nightlife.

What should you wear?

Our recommendation: Pack something red that you enjoy wearing. That could be a dress, shirt, comfortable outfit or a red accessory. Choose for your comfort and the activities you want to join.

If you expect to spend time around the pool celebration, consider the possibility of getting wet and plan footwear and layers accordingly. Keep an outfit practical enough to move around the ship comfortably.

How to plan the evening

  1. Check the actual schedule. Use the app for your voyage’s date, venues and times.
  2. Leave room after dinner. Avoid putting a long meal immediately against an activity you care about.
  3. Choose a meeting place. If you are with friends, agree where to reconnect.
  4. Explore at your pace. You can enjoy the atmosphere without attending every part.
  5. Decide what to carry. Keep the evening simple with only the essentials you need.

Do you have to attend the pool party?

You choose how to spend the evening. Our recommendation is to sample the parts that interest you, then decide whether to stay. A red outfit and an enjoyable dinner can still be part of your night even if late dancing is not your preference.

For travelers who are unsure about crowds, consider arriving with a friend or familiar face and giving yourself permission to leave when you want. You do not need to match anyone else’s pace.

What about dinner reservations?

Check the Scarlet Night timing before finalizing dinner. A restaurant meal can work well if there is space between it and the activities you want. A casual meal can be a better choice if you prefer to keep the evening flexible.

Scarlet Night vs the pajama party

They are different events. Scarlet Night centers on the red celebration; the PJ Party is a pajama-themed gathering. Check your onboard schedule and pack separately if you want to dress for both.

Joining with Social Vacations

On a designated hosted community sailing, getting acquainted before boarding can make it easier to find people to share an evening with. Check your community schedule for any planned gathering, then decide which parts of the night you want to enjoy together.

Our packing shortcut

Choose your red outfit before you leave, try it with the shoes you will wear and decide what bag or pockets you need. A few minutes of practical preparation can make the evening more relaxed.

The schedule and arrangements can change. Use the current onboard instructions for your voyage rather than treating a previous sailing’s video as a timetable.
