Virgin Voyages has four ships: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady. They share the adults-only approach, but routes, dining details and entertainment can differ. The best ship for you is usually the one offering the strongest combination of dates, itinerary and cabin.
| Ship | Useful distinction | Planning guide |
|---|---|---|
| Scarlet Lady | The original ship, with refreshed spaces and Lucky Lotus dining | Explore Scarlet Lady |
| Valiant Lady | Compare its published Caribbean and European routes and current dining lineup | Explore Valiant Lady |
| Resilient Lady | Compare its European and Caribbean itineraries | Explore Resilient Lady |
| Brilliant Lady | The newest ship, with North American routes including Alaska | Explore Brilliant Lady |
These are orientation points, not permanent ship assignments. Confirm the departure port and route for the exact date you want.
A new restaurant or show can be a reason to choose one sailing over another. For most trips, it is worth weighing that against the ports, time ashore, total journey and cabin options. Do not sacrifice the itinerary you want because another ship appears newer in a video.
Compare the deck plan for the ship you are actually booking. A cabin category name does not guarantee identical placement, outdoor features or neighboring venues across the fleet.
Our recommendation depends on how far you must travel and what you want to experience. A shorter voyage can be a useful introduction when the departure city is convenient. A longer voyage can make more sense when flights and pre-cruise travel take substantial time.
Count usable days and compare transport costs, rather than treating cruise length as the only measure of value.
Ask everyone to list one essential feature and one preference. Essential dates, accessibility or departure location should be resolved before less important differences such as a particular bar. This makes the comparison easier and reduces the risk of booking a ship that only suits one person.
Choose a designated hosted community sailing and confirm which ship operates it. If a specific ship is your priority, tell us that at the start so we can explain the available dates and community options.
